Massive Fallout is a large-scale group ride organized by the volunteers of the Clinton River Area Mountain Bike Association (CRAMBA). The ride features four prominent trails in Macomb and Oakland Counties: Stony Creek, Bald Mountain, Addison Oaks, and Bloomer. These trails are all connected via a series of safe roads, paths, and rail trails creating a fun, flexible ride. Whether you’re a beginner or expert, the ride can be configured to your experience level and desired length. The total estimated mileage is roughly 50-60 miles including Bloomer.
All trails and routes will be marked clearly. Maps will be handed out during starting hours. Join us for the mass start to be part of one of the largest mountain bike group rides in Southeast Michigan.
This ride is a CRAMBA event and will be insured under the CRAMBA group event policy. SAG support and aid stations will be available during the ride should you need help or fuel and we will be working closely with area bike shops to provide the best support possible to all that attend. T-Shirts will be available for sale the day of the ride. All proceeds from T-Shirt sales will go to CRAMBA.

Since originally presenting this new activity, the thread on the forum was filled with suggestions for our first inductees. They are listed below. The MMBA would like to get a bio of each suggested person after which the board will narrow the selection process to three or four persons per category. The list is, of course, by no means all inclusive and certainly is missing many others who have contributed to the mountain biking community in Michigan over the years. The Trifecta Tour Ride will offer three individual routes to choose from to challenge riders of all skill levels.

All routes include a combination of paved bike paths, paved roads, dirt roads and single track trails with the exception being the 10 mile version which stays off paved and dirt roads.

The event will take place rain or shine. In the case of wet conditions, there will be alternate routes presented to protect our trails.

A revised standings tonight- A couple errors were noted mostly in expert categories in which the lowest TT result was not removed from the “five races points” calculations. That has been corrected and as a result there are a couple changes in the standings for some racers whose positions will have changed.
Please review well before Addison and Pando- since only two TTs can count toward minimum five events- some racers are sitting with four or even three races and will not be in the qualifications for the minimum five events for a series trophy without doing either or both of the last two events.
Congratulations to our Time Trial champions for 2013- they posted the lowest combined time for the three time trials of Yankee, State Games and Maybury.
They will get a Time Trial bell at the MMBA Expo awards ceremony held on January 26, 2014

The course consists of fast and flowing sections with some tight and twisty sections to challenge your skills. The course is approximately 6.6 miles long and is ~70% single track. A map of the trail with the 2013 race route highlighted can be found here.
Racers who do not already have a valid Oakland County Parks motor vehicle permit will be required to pay a $5 parking fee the day of the race. This fee can be applied to the purchase of a 2014 vehicle permit.
Racers arriving by bus will be charged per-bus, at a rate of $1 per occupant.

No one likes to listen to us pull number after number out of the bag of people who’ve already gone home. So this year, we’re doing things a bit differently. You’ll find a 2-part raffle ticket stapled to the back of your number plate. Notice, the numbers on the ticket correspond to the number on your number plate. This is so we can call your name when we pull the ticket, rather than just a number.

-At 3:30 PM, we’ll start announcing that its time to drop your ticket into the drawing box.

The Addison Oaks Fall Classic is Race #9 of the 2013 MMBA CPS season.
The Motor City Mountain Biking Association is pleased to announce the 8th annual Maybury Time Trial on August 17th, 2013, brought to you by the good folks at Cycle to Fitness and RACING GREYHOUNDS.
- This is the 8th race in the MMBA Championship Point Series and counts towards the Time Trial Series – free signup for this series is available here.
- 2013’s race will follow the proven Time Trial format as previous years with individual start times. It’s you against the clock, with minimal passing and no excuses!
- This year features an entirely new course experience, and includes large sections of singletrack that are normally off limits to biking! It will include a mix of fast open sprints and tight, technical singletrack that reward both cardio AND bike handling skills! (Elite and Expert racers will have 2 laps of fun!)
- $1600 cash awards

- Our friends at Race Services will be handling the timing, with results posted immediately on kiosks and available from their web site.

Well, we’ve had a very eventful summer so far. Mostly great, but some not-so-great.
We’ll start with the bad…
CRAMBA Trailer Break-in and Tool Theft
Around the first week of July 2013 the CRAMBA-IMBA tool trailer was broken into and nearly all of our power tools were stolen. The loss of these tools — used for building and maintaining trails — is particularly hard mid-summer when our volunteers are working to keep trails clear.
The stolen tools include our backpack blower (BR600), two KombiMotors (KM 90 R and KM 110 R), three KombiSystem attachments (HL-KM, FS-KM, HT-KM), and a dedicated line trimmer (FS 55 R). All together this is nearly a $2000 loss.
We need your donations to help purchase replacements so we can keep our trails great.

Pinckney and Waterloo planning open house Oct 2
Public Open House scheduled for October 2, 2012 for input on the proposed Phase 2 Long Range Action Goals Plans for Pinckney Recreation Area and Waterloo Recreation Area.
The Department of Natural Resources recently announced that an open house designed for the public to provide input on the proposed Phase 2 Long Range Action Goals Plans for Pinckney Recreation Area in Livingston and Washtenaw Counties, and Waterloo Recreation Area in Ingham, Jackson and Washtenaw Counties, will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
The open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gerald Eddy Discovery Center, located at 17030 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI.
These two recreation areas, which are adjacent to each other, combine to provide over 30,000 acres of public recreational property in Jackson, Livingston and Washtenaw
Counties. The parks are home to diverse natural and cultural resources. Waterloo Recreation Area features more rare animals and plant species, and more exemplary
natural communities, than any other park in the state system. A broad spectrum of recreation opportunities are enjoyed in both parks, including; modern and rustic camping, many boating and fishing options, and a vast area of public land open to hunting, trapping, and other recreation. Significant for both parks are the trail use activities enjoyed by equestrians, mountain bikers, hikers/runners/walkers, and others.
This open house will provide an opportunity for the public to review and comment on specific long range actions that are recommended for these two parks. The DNR’s
planning consultant, Birchler Arroyo, Associates will conduct the open house and DNR staff will also be available to participate in presenting an overview of the planning
process and to address questions regarding the park and the planning efforts underway.

Four $500 grants available to Michigan IMBA chapters
The Michigan Mountain Biking Association announces the availability of four $500.00 grants available to MMBA chapter members.
Two grands are available for 2013 and grant applications should be received by August 15th 2013
The two remaining grants will be awarded in spring of 2014 and applications for those grants should be received by March 1, 2014
Criteria will be financial need/status of the chapter, merits of the project or program presented.
