More Riders = Less Vandalism. More people need to be out there at all times of day with eyes to see, and maybe cameras to photograph? More traffic may cut down on some of these problems.

Apps, your location was great,, the freaking log was huge

It's RIP'ing in peace now (on the ground), so the NEW log pile is very do-able for all :wink:

There's another big (elevated) log down in the north section across the bridge that can be developed into a log ramp too.. that one won't be as close the ground though :shock:

Will keep you posted on the bridge situation.

The bridges have been stolen .. plan to have them replaced by the end of the month. PM or email me if you're interested in helping with the replacement activity..If you like to play in the dirt, you qualify. :!:

there's usually free food available for volunteers

I like your idea K2, do you know where we can get a drainage pipe? It would be interesting getting it back to the trail too

Perhaps a teeter-totter could be installed on top of the pipe :?:

I don't think Adam is talking about the same size drainage pipe...? I am guessing he is talking about smaller pipe and making a dirt bridge over the cravas.

I was thinking 24"+ drainage pipe and enough dirt to cover it and create a bridge across the ditch. What kind of flow does this ditch get? if any? debris? It may need grating too... :?:

Where does such a drainage pipe come from? And, cost? And, weight to move it?

I believe adam means and correct me if I'm wrong. Grating to catch any debris that might flow throught the pipe and clog it.

There are actually several ditches in the park that appear to be man-made and don't carry water. We think they are interesting to ride through or over. We really like having a couple bridges and a couple ride through dips. The problem is that the kids that run in the park wanted a bridge accross the river and so they stole many of our structures. We know where they are, but we want to show the Sheriff before we take them back.

So we could just fill the ditches with some dirt, but the bridge was a nice feature, and we plan to make more structures. We just need to keep the kids from tering them up! :evil:

Another option I thought about while walking through the ditch on Wednesday... They appeared to have taken the bridge without the use of any tools... I saw a few of the screws still there and bent. :evil:

What if we "overbuild" it... sink so many screws into it they couldn't possibly just tear it out :?:

I have a box of drywall screws and a pretty decent drill... Since there isn't going to be any (or too much) water in the ditch we could sink a couple of extra posts to mount the "fortified" bridge to. Maybe some metal gussets along the mounting areas to the posts :?:

Any contractors got any materials or ideas to donate :?:

Maybe square head decking screws :?:

Something to give them something to think about or slow them down long enough to have someone catch them in the act :!:
