At Bloomer you can ride in from the rail trail. There is a parking lot on the north east of the over pass. Just ride the rail trail east and look for a side trail.
If you cross a bridge, you have found Bloomer.
I have never parked at 12 1/2 mile to ride Novi. I have seen cars parked there during my rides. So it must be an OK place to park.
Has anybody had a problem parking there?

Tree down at the 12 1/2 mile Rock Gardens. It's covering the drop and the rock garden line. The far left line is clear. Going to need a chain saw Loren.

Trail was in great shape yesterday afternoon. I plan to ride it tonight too, but we are getting hammered with rain downtown right now. Anyone know if Novi is experiencing the same??

Trail was in good condition last night.
However, for the 2nd time in a row, those darn black flies have helped me run right into a tree! Seems to be the same place everytime where they pick up.... back by the Pines!

If anyone has a method that keeps them away (outside of deet which doesnt work, and riding faster, which is why I run into trees), then please let me know!
Otherwise, dont laugh at the chick who has fly paper stuck to her helmet this week! ;-)

The best way to deter them is to not shower, and don't use deodorant, hair product, or perfumes.
I'm a stinky hippy and they didn't bother me a bit on my putzy ride through the pines.

I did take a grasshopper to the face hard enough yesterday to exploder it on my left jaw.... I felt bad for the little dude.... but he tasted horrible.

Anyone know the conditions there today?
If it stops raining for a few hours, is this park pretty well drained?

Had 1/2 inch of rain today.

We'll be out to towel dry it tomorrow, but probably best to avoid riding tonight.

I rode two laps this (Friday) morning and the trail had a few wet spots but if everyone would ride through them they will be gone in no time.No trees down, and almost no face slappers.

Rode last night, not too long after the downpours, and after the sun came out.
I left a little muddy, but I'm sure it will be better this afternoon!

I must say, for being one of the last trails to be ready to ride after the winter thaw - this trail dries nicely after a huge downpour right now!
