Trail was in perfect shape today. Thanks to those who cleared the trees.

The trail was most excellent on saturday, with hardly any people on it in the early afternoon.

Anyone know the story on the chorten ( death shrine) 20 ft to the right of the trail at the first patterson lake road crossing?

Car wreck involving the death of a local young man . County road commission had to cut down the oak it's erected on because it became an unsightly mess when who ever decided to use mudder tires chained to the oak along with old skate decks as a memorial. When those were removed they decided to light the oak on fire . Nice .

It looked like a tree had been cut down as a result. I just glimpsed it as I was crossing. How long ago ?

Poto was in great shape today. The little big of moisture help tame the sand sections.

Also big thanks to Jim for stopping and letting me borrow the chain tool. It saved me a very long walk back. I may even try and make it out to one of your Wednesday group rides. Although not sure I could keep up.

Can anyone give a report on the conditions today? I was thinking of heading out there this afternoon but since we had such a rain yesterday I don't want to waste a trip if it's a mud pit.

Yup. Chainsaw. I'd guess at least a 14" diameter. It's at the top of a climb near the end of the hills of *beep*
