Did a Blue/Yellow loop today, first time out since the melt started, and was surprised how fast and dry the track was, even a little dusty in places.
On the Blue/Yellow loop there is one large tree on Blue a bit before the Yellow cutoff that has an already well bedded-in go-around which may become a permanent feature.

Hope so! Need to break up those long straight sections! It's just before 8 1/4 and another on yellow just after blue-yellow cutoff.

Found a grey Giro helmet size 51-54 in the road near the parking lot of the main trailhead. I placed it on the bench near the water well pump. ~8:10pm
It was near the corner of the parking lot so I presume someone forgot about it on their roof and drove away

also, trail was great. big tree down on blue as others have noted with a well-worn reroute, otherwise trail is clear
there is another tree down off the main trail... if you do all of blue, then keep going straight at the blue/yellow split, it's shortly before you get to the parking lot.

Both Blue and Yellow were in fantastic shape on Wednesday afternoon. Dirt is dry but nice and grippy. Thanks Rita and Teresa for joining me.

Trail is in great shape! There is a tree across the trail on Yellow next to the river at about mile 4.5 that can be cleared with a hand saw. I couldn't find mine or I would have knocked it out tonight.

There was one ~ mile 4 that was overhead - but a low hanger. Not sure if we are talking about the same one - but it seemed a little dangerous as you turned into it.

Also a downed tree towards the end of yellow blocking the trenched out climb - that one needs to be removed as I had to hike over it.

Trail was boooooooooootiful today!

Grabbed a handsaw on 2nd lap and cleared the tree at the ~5mile mark on yellow.

Fresh tree down (twin trunk) on Yellow as of 7:30pm Monday night. It's right at the top of the Grand River climb adjacent to the park bench. You can duck under them you dismount. Will require a chainsaw.

Here's a pic to help assess the effort. Another rider helped clear the awful and remove branches with a hand chain to allow passage. The rest needs a chain saw as mentioned by bespoke... it's just after the Yellow climb along Grand River.

I can get it on Thursday if it hasn't been taken out yet.

There shouldn't be much traffic this week given the rain.

I'm traveling in from out of state for the demo event at Island Lake tomorrow. Will the trails be okay to ride tonight and tomorrow? I'm not sure how much rain you've been getting. Thanks!

It won't be ideal but it won't be terrible either. The event will go on.

Have fun.
