Was walking the dog yesterday on the north loop and noticed someone cut the hanging in the trail trees. Getting ready for spring already? :)

Good luck, guys. I'm taking 15 students to Kentucky to ride and work on Big Hollow Trail at Mammoth Cave!
See you next time around.

Trees. Everywhere. And muck.

I bailed on West at Turtle Trail the mud was so thick. Was sinking a couple of inches although not slinging much. Obvious soft spots every couple hundred feet, 5 or 6 before the Turtle cut-off. I stopped counting the downed trees on Turtle Trail; would guess there's 10-15, and 3 down on West before Turtle cut-off.

Horrible conditions, but if we don't get too much rain and the temps hold, it'll probably be fine next weekend.

I'll try to be there a little after 4:00. Old white Dodge pickup.

I'll be there if it's still a go. I think most of the folks on the Eastside of town will opt for River Bends. That still leaves the Westsiders to concentrate on Holdridge.

Chili?

Went walking, yep - turtle loop is covered in down trees. The good news is it has dried up pretty much. The lake shore loop also has six or seven trees down. The way out on the west has a few trees out, so I would think the west has some trees. There are trees blocking the east entrance on Hess also.

Saturday, April 19th.

West, Lake, and Tech loops are all clear with just a few wet, squishy areas.
The first 2 1/2 miles of East is clear but there is still plenty of deadfall on East, Meadow, Orchard, North and Turtle loops.

Epic Trail Day! Lots of helpers made the work go a little quicker. It was great to put faces to the names we see on this forum. The chili was fantastic.

The weather really took it's toll on the trail systems this year. If you ride, your help is basically necessary on a Trail Day.

Thanks to all who made it to the April 19th event. You are who make this sport great!

Did a quick lap on West last night, a couple of muddy spots, but not too bad. There was a decent sized tree crossing the trail about handlebar height at ~.75 mile in (according to my Garmin). There was another one down at ~3.4 miles in (not including tech trail), it was around a corner at the top of a downhill just before the Lake Loop entrance.

Saw a lot of trees cut and want to thank everyone who helped clean up the trails (and continue to keep them ride-able), hoping to make it out for a trail day or two this year.

Dan,
Please work with Ron(r21954 ) on this. As he is the TC, everything related to trail maintenance should be passed thru Ron.

Thanks for your cooperation,
