Just FYI, the trail is a bit muddy today. I saw some ruts from other riders, and a few slick areas (and signs of wipeouts) as well.

Also, there is still a collection of trees down in the Barton->Pontiac connector, right next to the Pontiac exit, on the south trail. I counted 3 trees there.

Has anyone done a lap recently? How are things out there?

I havent been out on the bike in a while, made it out on skis early last week and it was pretty good. I wouldnt ride when it is warm or sunny out, will be a mud fest...

I commuted on my mountain bike today figuring I'd ride a section of the Local Loop on my way home. I'm expecting it to be firm with icy patches but I'll post what I find.

Rode Sunset Park, K-L, the Onder Park connector, Leslie/Black Pond, the "urban" connector, Olson Park, the Traver Creek connector, and Cedar Bend. Everything was ride-able in the loosest sense of the phrase but there was lots of ice. Probably 2/3 or so of those sections of the Loop were iced over. Big sheets of ice on the open trail at K-L. I was glad to exit that part of the trail and get into the woods which still had ice but was more broken up. Olson Park was overall the roughest section of the Loop. Least amount of ice was on the Traver Creek connector and Cedar Bend.

That was me! Where were you? I didn't see anyone else riding the trail.

Ha ha ha. Awesome. I was on M-14 driving home and spotted you. One of the few times I've ever caught someone on the trail while I was on the highway.

I imagine today will be awesome! Rode home last night from downtown taking a detour on some of the trails and they were getting to be in most excellent condition :icon_thumleft: Happiest of New Year's to EVERYONE! May the best of 2013 be the worst of 2014. Ride long and happy!

Well, it doesn't happen often, but when it does, the local loop goes off!

My lovely wife in red who just so happens to be less than two weeks away from her/our due date with #1! She was a trooper and snowshoed up and down the skintrack a few times, she was kinda *beep* she wasn't able to make any turns...

The snow was really nice, best around here in years. Hoping it doesn't thaw!

Very cool! Never even thought about boarding through those areas. Just the local golf course and park hills. I taught myself on the drop/back stairs area of U of M Hospital. There is the hele pad there now.
