Tree down middle phaser between siren & sawtooth, will need a chainsaw to remove.

Anyone been out there lately? How is it? Was thinking of taking the fatbike there tomorrow. Also, is it "do-able" on a regular mtb (friend wants to go too)? Thanks.

Fatbike would be perfect out there right now. Skinny tire bike will be a workout depending on the day of the week (red or yellow direction).

Thanks. Any idea how much snow is out there now? Is it rutted hardpack? Just don't want my friend disappointed if he show's up on his Superfly and can't really ride.

Thank you Michael Brower for grooming the Merrell Trail with your kiddie snowmobile! The entire trail system was driven over for two laps. This is a test idea only since it may not set up firm like we hope. Mike might have to make another pass with a drag after the warm up on Thursday and Friday. Let us know if it helps or hurts the riding. We won't know if we never try

Is Merrell rideable on a regular 29'er mtb now with all the grooming that has been done? Are these warm temps putting the grooming in jeopardy if it would get ridden I guess is what I'm wondering?

it was rideable with a 29er. not sure if the base will get to soft today. just use the same guide as if it were to muddy. If you leave deep ruts don't ride it

Thanks Rick. Was kinda thinking the same train of thought about treating the soft snow conditions like mud. Think I'll hit the WPT instead. Unfortunately, not everyone will use their noggin' when riding the trail on a non-fatbike in the predicted 40 degree temps today. :( Hopefully the groomed hardpack doesn't get too trashed today and tomorrow. Next week will be more suitable for skinny tire bikes with high temps in the teens

from the Facebook page:

Please stay off the groomed trails if you are leaving ruts in the soft snow due to warm temps. The sudden drop in temps will freeze them into crappy trail surfaces. Treat soft groomed snow as if it was mud.

Mike Brower hopes to groom it tonight or tomorrow night. Right now it is slow going.

rode it on the 19th. was awesome. very few icy spots on trail (parking lot was a bit slick tho).

made a quick video of the ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbCT3f2HXoM

with the cold temps i would assume the trail surface would be good for a while. only some of the areas that are exposed to wind would be sketchy due to loose drifted snow, but there are not many areas like that.
