So as I was riding around Bloomer today randomly spraying blue dots on trees, small deer, and slow moving walkers from the OPC, I thought hmmmm - based on the Bloomer soil type, is it better to rake leaves off the trail or let them lay? Bojangles?

I thought there was a problem with the Bloomer land managers and the blue dots on trees. Now we have them on deer and slow people!

Howdy all-

Update for Bloomer!!!!!!

MORE SINGLE TRACK!!!!!! LESS TWO TRACK!!!!!!!!

More trail has been approved by the land manager this past Saturday. One section has been raked and needs all the baby heads removed. The Map will include this new section and the other two that are in the works. The map official map will be completed this week and sent of to the printer.

BIG SWITCH BACK: AVOID this please as the park and I have determined it to be unsafe as trees have fallen and so has the trail. Discussions of what to do next are in the works.

TRAIL CONDITIONS: AVOID riding and please spread the word. The trail has not thawed completely and is very muddy. Several large trees are down and the park will remove them soon. Chain saws are only allowed by their forest service to remove downed trees.

See you all at tomorrows meeting at the mills.

Is that normally when it dries out? I've never been biking there before so I really don't know what it's like.

June may be a stretch but it is one of the last in the area. It was pretty bad last weekend and this weeks rains didn't help any.

Bloomer Park Trail Clean Up Day May 7 2011

What to Bring: Large Rakes, lopers, small garbage bags, lots of water, big smile

Wear: Long sleeve shirts, pants, boots, gloves. Poision Ivy is everywhere. I already have a bad case of it. YUCK!!!

Parking: Near the Kiosk, Parking should be free, just tell attendant if they are there that you are here for the trail day. expect to pay under 5 bucks if they make you. Its their right to collect parking fees.

Plan: We want to finish cleaning the trail up, rake all leaves, pick up and remove sticks and prune back over growth. I will have maps laid out to send troops to certain areas.

I will do my best to provide refreshments after. Any questions, email me.
