Attention mountain bikers/runners: Cannonsburg Ski Area Management has requested at this time that we no longer "Party" in the parking lot. That means No alcohol and No grilling out in the parking lot. They are still looking into opening up the restaurant for us during the week if we can show we would support them. Thanks for your cooperation!

People grill out in the parking lot?

Fresh beer would be nice on the deck.

Also, big tree down across trail at foot of the big nasty climb. Is it a sign? A sign that a re-route is due? If it dries out like last year and folks keep widening it, it will turn into a big dune.

group of three of us rode yesterday there for the first time, nice trail. only a couple wet spots on the north end. love some of the bermed turns. there are some sand patches that are inconveniently located coming out of some of the fast turns, haha. will definitely be back though.

we had a celebratory (a, one) beer after our ride, hope it wasn't us that offended the powers that be...

Rode Cannonsburg for the first time this morning. Very cool/fun trail. One tree down that you must dismount and lift bike over. Trail is in great shape and I had the place to myself! Well worth the drive over and a good change of pace from my home trail (Ionia). I'll definatley be back.

Hey EASYSTEEZ,
Glad you liked it, alot different than Ionia. Do you know the TC at Ionia, George Trowbridge? He could really use some volunteer help.

Picnic Pops starts up again tomorrow. This will be an every Thursday and Friday thing for July and August. Hopefully we can still ride there as long as we don't park there and we use the connector trail for access like last year? Can someone confirm this?

Also just a heads up, traffic on Cannonsburg road gets pretty backed up when people are showing up to the concerts so maybe use Knapp or Belding road to go east / west if you can.

no reason this would have changed that I know of. Just ride into the trail using the connector and don't ride across the base of the ski hills (stay in the woods and singletrack)

Are we good to come out of the woods at the entrance to the skills park and then right turn it back up the gut?

There is a new connector trail there for this part where you don't even need to come out of the woods anymore if you use it.

It's also a cost effective way to catch some of the concerts :)

There's a pesky beaver doing what beavers do along the creek trail. Last week, I helped someone move a tree that had been gnawed and had fallen across the trail. This morning, there's another tree right next to it that has been chewed and is about to fall over the trail (not presently blocking). The next bit of wind will surely drop that too. Beware!

We will be working on a new section of trail at Cannonsburg Ski Area on Saturday, November 9th from 9am to Noon. This new section is off the "connector" trail that links the Ski Area trail to the State Game Area trail. We will be meeting in the parking lot at Cannonsburg Ski Area by the WMMBA trailer. A pizza lunch will be provided by Freewheeler Bike Shop. Please bring boots, gloves, rakes, and water.
