Tree down on Loop 1 before Wixom Road spur. Light, but awkward for one person to move. Couldn't break it. Up in the air a bit.
Poplar tree down but passible on Loop 4 before the long hill (near the beginning of the loop). Broken over and still attached to trunk. Again, small, but awkward to move.

The downhill on Loop 4 south of Child's Lake is really washed out. Not the smooth ride it was 2 weeks ago. Get ready to have your fillings come loose...
Still can't make last hill on Loop 3....

Horse tracks heavy on loops 2 and 4 before the spur to Kensington. Lighter tracks most other loops. Occasional horse bombs. That's what makes Proud Lake unique.

"Occasional horse bombs" "That's what makes Proud Lake unique."

Interesting terminology.

I just cut the tree out of loop 1, and last night I mowed the start and end of that loop.

Trail is good, get out and ride!

Contractors have been clearing the power lines on loop 1 all week, they are almost done. I was back there this morning, it's a muddy mess, hard to tell where the trail was.

Thinking about doing Proud Lake on Mon or Tues. Anyone know if it's rideable after last week's rain?

Rode L1 today and was good to go w/ usual wet spots.
The last sect of L4 east of Childs Lk Rd is probably still holding water as usual...

All 4 loops were dry this morning except for a few small slick spots, but as I was leaving the rain was starting to fall again.

Was my first time riding the trail and I got totally fubarred when I came to the powerline clearing in the 1st loop. Misread the map and did some bushwacking before I found the trail again. Felt like a doofus when I realized I just had to follow the powerlines over the hill to pick up the trail.

Line clearing on loop 1 is done. Prepare to ride on caterpillar tracks for a bit. Its rough. Otherwise the trails are in good shape. Even east side of loop 4 across Childs lake is good. Sand is holding up well with the regular rains. Time to go for your PR or a kom.

Pretty badly overgrown and quite a few greasy spots. Not enjoyable this afternoon, especially with the heat.

Rode all the loops yesterday.

Trails in need of some serious trimming.

Trail gone by the power lines on loop 1.

Any areas exposed to the sun are very over grown to the point you don't even know the trails there. In the woods lots of face slappers and prickers.

I would avoid if you don't know the trail or hate riding in these conditions.

On a good note. No trees down, and I saw a nice 6 pointer.

Trail is in need of a trail day.
Also, one tree down about 2/3 way thru Loop 1.

Last night I cut the tree across Loop 1. Also cut out a blowdown and another tree on the Chief Pontiac Hiking Trail.
