You also could have earned an annual pass by doing 16 hours of trail work.

Not sure if this was obvious, but the 16 hours specifically had to be done at Lakeshore Park. There were some other stipulations as well.

I know that you do and the help is appreciated, but there are advantages to reporting your time maintaining any trail to one of the TCs... Rolled up, aggregated trail hours helps MMBA on state-wide advocacy efforts - we work to make a difference. On a personal level, there's always the coveted FAFL awards. At the trail level, it helps TCs maintain great relationships with land managers. Work we do is work they don't have to. Because Dave tracks this, Novi parks knows that the hours that we invest each year approximate a full time person on their staff dedicated to the MTB trails at Lakeshore, their MTB parks and recs programs, and other related activities. The free annual passes for significant volunteers is just a way of showing their appreciation.

Rode Lakeshore today and the trail was in great condition. Weather was perfect. Only a few cars in the lot this afternoon.

I appreciate all the folks who have cut, cleared and maintained this trail. I can't believe all the trees that have come down and been cut/cleared over the last year and lots of other reinforcements and improvements.

I appreciate those that give their time and hard work, this is a gem.

Presumably, but if you live or work in novi you don't need a pass.

If the front booth is staffed, then yes.

It's hit or miss that time of the evening. Usually can count on the booth being staffed if the beach is open.

(Misplaced a new fatmax tape measure out by the pump track today - if anyone found it, would appreciate a pm.)

Lakeshore is dry overall, a few small muddy and damp areas in th low spots that are conveniently in tight/fast turns. Other than that just a few small branches overgrowing in the trail, nothing major.

you must have rode it before the insane flash downpour I got stuck in last night. You really might want to avoid this until someone else says it is good. My wife said we didn't get any rain in sylvan lake (north) and Lakeshore must have gotten an inch or more in 45mins. not a fun storm to be stuck in...

Agreed. The downpours last night came in three waves and they were real soakers. The second one had me drenched in the time it took me to walk across the backyard to the safety of the garage(I was relocating sprinkler heads).

Rode Lakeshore Friday night. I was in the middle of the Lost Loop when I felt a couple sprinkes. Then the thunder came. Within minutes it was pouring. I made it out to the two track and high tailed it back to my car. Can't believe how fast the water pooled up, felt like I was riding through a river. By the time I got back to Royal Oak, the sun was out and everything was dry. We didn't get a drop.

By the way, that lost loop is full of knats and mosquitos. Unavoidable, in the mouth or up the nose. Fun Fun
