Correct. I was driving on Predmore / Harmon Rd. Past the Graham and Heart lakes. Heart lake was very much covering the short section of the the trail you can see from the road.

There are parts of BMN that never really get dry, but merely passable.

My friend and I are planning to ride the south and maybe north trail on Thursday May 9. Can anyone give me a report on current trail conditions? Thanks!

There are 2 trees down at north, not a big deal at all. And there are a couple of wet spots(normal). I don't ride south. It's more fun to integrate Addison into you north loop ride if you have time. Have fun.

I haven't ridden the south unit yet but people are reporting that LOHS is pretty much dry. BMS stays wetter longer than most other area trails. I think there are a couple of different groups planning on riding at LOHS tonight aroung 5:30-6:00.

Bald North was fast! and dry. Behind the Ranger house the mud was there.. but I didnt sink and it didnt kick up. There is a Tree down after the lake George entrance.about 6" and a hand saw could kill it. A biggin' down just before the Conklin connector. It broke into several LARGE sections and will need a chain saw.the only muddy sqush I found was a small patch just before you pop back out at the Lk. Grg spot again.

South unit has 3 trees down near posts 12, 14 and 4.. 14 and 4 are big trees.
Also found the usual sticky mud holes and a couple spots had standing water which probably wont dry completely for weeks.

The massive tree "barricade" is still down on the south loop of the north unit. Is this DNR's responsibility to clear it, or will it require a special trail day from the volunteers?

That "massive tree barricade" is indeed massive! It is just before the Conklin connector and will require many man-hours with a chain saw. There is a "re-route" around it, but I'd suggest walking it, as it is on a steep grade, and even the footing was precarious.

The only other "bad spots" were just before the short bridge near Harmon Rd. (the one that's ALWAYS wet), and near the Ranger's house (there is a rideable re-route to the left, but you have to watch for it). Oh, and face-slappers. Lots of 'em. :P

The tree barricade has been removed :D. The soft area after the bridge is also drying out.

Anybody make it out to the North Unit yesterday? Wondering how it is after all the wet weather we had?
If not I'll report back after I ride today.

Rode it last night, a handful, maybe 3 or 4 spots where the brush reaches out and touches you and one of them def had thorns on it. *beep* It only got greasy in a few spots but definitely do-able and at least 2 of those spots seem to never by dry.
