not biking, but did some running around the yard and some underwater stuff. Def worth it for the price.

the vids i saw on youtube sold me on it. **not my videos but fillmed with the same model camera**

and i am going to try and make one of these...

there have also been decent reviews on attachable fisheye lens', not sure how they will hold up mtn biking but ill get one when they are back in stock. (the screenshot on the vid below is not what it looks like, watch the video.)

nice man! Even though I've never met you, I think you've subscribed to a few of my crazy ideas by now. glad the camera has potential. Instead of getting a go pro, I'm going to go this route. Honestly, the video in those samples was every bit as good, and somewhat better than the go-pro footage I usually see. Having a functional camcorder for basic everyday applications is really nice too, as well as knowing if you do jack it up, you can go to any local meijer or whereever and pick up a new one. Even the remote places we ride usually have some sort of supercenter nearby.

GoPro makes chest mounts for their cameras. I have it for skiing, might have to try it out on the bike. These cameras aren't bad for the $$.

A little bit of advice. Don't film in 1080p for action. It only shoots 30fps and will not turn out as well as 720p at 60fps.

and for around $350+ you will be setup with a gopro and a chestmount. I will be under $100 with the camera, lens and chest mount :D

may not quite be the best quality ever, but this just makes more sence me right now...we can use the camera when we are at the lake and such and with the kids.

for you that would be perfect. Sadly Kodak doesnt make anything like that so i am forced to rig something. Not trying to be bean or what-not, and considering i wasnt able to aquire free stuff you may have won but i get second maybe?

And I had read somewhere to film 720p60 for a smoother video, also give you the option to slowmo a bit without it looking like garbage. Get yourself a mount and show us some videos. By the way, how did you aquire a free gopro!?!?

It was a gift, haha. I actually just took a video today of a lap at bloomer with a handlebar mount, we'll see how it turns out. I took one previously with a helmet mount, and it was bouncy, and the smoothing I did to it didn't help, but made it worse.

Here are a few others I've done tho...

With regard to rigid forks and mounting cameras on bikes, I've had no huge issues with my GoPro, you just have to set it up properly. Below is a vid I posted quite a while ago, mounting the GoPro down near the hub. Not much shake at all hitting the ramps. I rest it against the fork leg; the camera is not just sitting on it's mount. I often wrap a velcro strap around the mount to secure it. On a handle bar you want to use the shortest possible mounts, go long and it will shake more. Sometimes the trail you are riding will make it tough. For whatever reason, the most trouble I've had filming is at Fort Custer. I do not have many good vids from there, deleted most that were off the handlebar. Typically mounting it on your chest or helmet I find often works best. I've not tried one yet, but there's another company I believe called K-Edge that makes aluminum GoPro mounts. That might be the way to go if you need a mount to really reach out off the handlebar. In the vid below you'll notice more shake off the chest mount, it's important to really tighten that strap, I had forgot to check it when I did this, seemed tight, but there's some shake in those scenes, more compared to the fork mount.

Made a chest strap with an MP3 armband and didn't even cut a hole out for the lens so it recorded though the touch screen plastic thingy. No fish-eye yet either. Looks like this could be a fun toy for under $100 total between the camera, mount and fisheye (when i finally buy one)

Just a quick ride around the house...ignore the destroyed toys in my yard
