I hear you, but I think it flows great for all the turns and can carry good momentum almost everywhere. Have you ridden it much? It takes a few times to get used to. What trails do you like?

I should have mentioned that I did and usually do ride Maybury quite a bit at the beginning of the season - but that was toward the beginning of March for me. I only check in every so often until later in Autumn (Maybury has a certain magic then). I would attribute the state of the trail to perhaps an unusually dry season and abnormally high traffic.

I ride: the Grinder at least twice a week, Pontiac 2-3 times per week, Poto once each week (quite a drive for me, but worth it!) and at least one Proud Lake/Milford/Island Lake ride each week (I've been doing this routine since early April this year).

@Freedom, I'm a new MTBr just this month. I've only tried Maybury cuz I live right by it. Would you say full suspension is needed there now? I only have an HT and while I found the rooty downhills a bit jarrIng at first, I get a rush outta trying to find a smooth route through the rubble at top speed. Still, the trail is jarring enough that It shook my new saddle bag open and my Volvo keys are out there somewhere (folks, keep an eye out... maybe when the leaves drop next Oct they'll show up?).

Anyway, is there risk of damage to bike or rider from going HT where you probably need full squishy? And is that Maybury?

I ride maybury full rigid. I would regard it as a fairly smooth beginner friendly trail compared to many others in SE michigan.

Rode Maybury last evening. The trail is in great shape, running super fast as usual. Like the fallen tree converted to an obstacle at about the 5.25(?) mark. Thanks for the good work out there.

"No, the ground."

I rode last night too. Trail was in great shape. It has been a while since I'd been out this way. It seems to me that a lot more people are riding maybury this year. The trail seems much more worn in, it was a great ride.

It was my gf's first time riding here, and is now her favorite trail in SE michigan!

If any one thinks they see blood in the middle of the trail about 1/2 mi from the end of the loop, it's blood.
Made my sacrifice to Maybury last night. Locked up wheel + wheel turned = 5 staples in my elbow.

Ouch! Wish you a speedy recovery. Another one tonight too. Rider impaled his leg on a branch. EMS took him out. This guy left a lot of blood too!
See, even "beginner friendly" Maybury can take it's toll.

Not a real serious injury per the EMTs, but NASTY looking. The branch was impaled into the side of his knee at least 4 inches. You could see the outline of the branch on the outside of his knee. One of his buds said he'll post a picture of the (removed) branch.
