Bike Racks (for car) - Does it have to be this difficult?

I ordered one of these, and will be picking it up form Walmart, I'll post a review after I''ve used it. The 2 bike was only $80.

Cheap and quality are opposing criteria.

I'll second that. I had a Thule hanging rack that was awesome, but some of the newer FS designs prevent you from easily hanging the bike on the rack. Also, while there are four "spots" for four bikes, I could only really put three bikes on it. I tried a Swagman after that and was *really* disappointed. It was a piece of crap.

Lesson learned: my next rack--when I can afford it--will be a nice Saris. I'm expecting to spend $400-$500. In the end, it costs a of lot more to replace my bike. Fortunately, I have an SUV, so I can fit two to three bikes inside if I pop off the front wheels and lower the seats. One bike lays in there comfortably without having to pop off or adjust anything.

I have not had a problem with my swagman in the three years that I have had it. The two bike rack is light and very easy to put on and take off. I can have my bike on my car in less than a minute.

I've never had a problem putting a bike rack on my Pathfinder.
