Glad they are OK and that there is one less dirt bag in society for a short while. They were lucky they had a camera rolling.

Glad the cyclists are OK, and that they caught the a$$hat who drove. Another reason I really need to get a Contour or GoPro this summer...

This video definitely gave me a good reason to get a camera. :-D

I'm not sure what the laws are in Cali, but aren't you supposed to stop at a stop sign? 1:17 into that video shows the cyclists blowing through the stop sign.

You really think they rolled through that stop sign faster than everyone rolls through them in their car on a daily basis?

But, since they did roll through the stop sign let's let the driver off the hook. Two wrongs make a "whoshivsaget"....

I mean, either way, they were just roadies, so who cares, they should be smart enough to ride on trails instead.

I never said they deserved to get hit because they blew through the stop sign. Cyclists are the ones that have a bad rep because of people like this. It's just that cyclists always complain about those that don't follow the rules and then turn around and do stupid crap that does get them hurt (or killed).

No thread about an injured or killed road cyclist has ever been posted here without someone finding some fault in the rider. I've given up caring about it.

I don't know the CA law, and I'm sure you could Google it as easy as anyone, but some states allow bikes to roll through stop signs if there is no other traffic present.

That's because some of us *us* have almost hit "cyclists" because they were riding in the dark, wearing dark clothing, without lights, and while make additional poor decisions like riding the wrong way or cutting in front of us.

However, in this case, it is quite clear that this was obviously driver error.

Laws or no, I'm not sure why you would need to stop when making a right turn into a dedicated bike lane. Just in case a car is plowing through it, perhaps?
