Yeah, AllMountain is pretty *beep*. We should probably put him back in Beginner where he belongs!

FROM: Yankee Springs Time Trial 2012 WMMBA Benefit Race-The 23nd Annual Time Trial
-------------------------------------------------
WOW- racers, you ROCK! We reached our maximum of 700 pre-registrations! HOLY COW.
This is not only the highest pre-registration participation we've had, but also the highest registration ! (Previous high was 616).
Start times are online now at:
http://www.mmba.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=110169
Please arrive approximately on your before you race
Swag drawing items will be awarded some time after 10am. Your BIB number will be assigned to an item if you've won it- please check the swag table after your race (Elites and experts) and before your race (sport and beginners). The only stipulation on SWAG is- I need a photo and name of the winners of the Velocity wheelset and Velocity rims for our generous 2012 sponsor!
Weather looks to be great tomorrow- cool and clear. If you come out to pre-ride remember there will be volunteers on the course setting up today.
I know that there is construction on I-96 near mile marker 10 this weekend. Also on the S-curve in Grand Rapids. So racers from the Muskegon area and north of Gr Rapids will have some delays. All racers should check their route for construction. Here's an M-DOT link for work around the state: http://mdotnetpublic.state.mi.us/drive/
See you Sunday!!

If you can ride a 50min lap at Yankee... you shouldn't be riding in the sport class.

Agree, a 50 min lap will proby get you win in sport.

Wait, if you win, you shouldn't be in the class you are in?
Btw, 50min didn't win most age classes in sport, but looking at the lap times in Expert it seems about right to me that the Sport class winners are finishing with high 40s.
[EDIT: last year, the winners in all but one of the age classes in geared Sport were in the 50s. The course must have been pretty fast this year. I was a little over 8 minutes faster than last year; still holding out hope it was the training and experience and not the conditions]

I ended up at 52:25, but still won SS sport. I must have ran in a slow group, I had to pass 20 or more people, and was held up on many climbs. I think I could have been under 50 or close without those hold ups. Oh well! It was only my third race ever, so I'm happy with it.

paynful wrote:You would be surprised at how little those people effected your time... I a lot of people also, but I doubt any of them effected my time. You are not going to make up 2 and half mins due to people in front of you.
