Youre kidding right, is there still a way to get to that climb? Who did this reroute and why? Do they want the whole trail straight and flat?
I think the reason for the re-route may have had more to do with the descent after the climb, vs the climb itself. The current descent was a re-route a few years back....but it has eroded pretty badly....the first right hander developes a tremendous amount of sand in the summer months, and due to it being a sharp corner with a tree to dodge at the entrance, it claims victims frequently.
The reroute may add a little legnth to the course....it comes in at the bottom of the current descent, at the exit of the final left hander in the pines.
It is what it is....the TC has a tall order in trying to please everyone
Please everyone. I dont remember the last time they added something that made the trail more challenging. Just another trail that will eventually become flat. If blaming it on erosion makes you feel better.....
