There was someone on a 4-wheeler out there removing the decapitator? Strange. I wonder who that was. There should be no 4-wheeler's out there.

The boards on the Green North were placed by Ron. THANKS Ron.

Remke - the blue cutoff joins the main blue after the connector because the blue-cutoff is actually the old main blue trail in the reverse direction. I agree that this should now meet up with the blue trail prior to the connector. I will take a look and it should be a pretty quick fix.

Brad I am not even sure if the person on the 4- wheeler was the same one removing stuff or not. I asumme it was because while on Red I heard a chainsaw going and then saw the 4-wheeler on the two track parked by another tree that had come down. Never actually did see any one on it or with a chainsaw. I think they were just useing the 4-wheeler to get closer to areas that needed chainsaw work so they didn't have to walk so far and not out there really ripping it up.

The decapitator at the end of the Blue had certainly descended a lot since last week. I was able to yank it down and out of the way with help from my son in law. I saw that four-wheeler too, on the road and parked at a down log on some non-bicycle two track. They were in mellow/transport mode, not riding for sport…

Riding over those new boards instead of shouldering my heavy bike over a mess of ruts was a pleasure. Thank you Ron. Thanks for the other various shovel work too, if that was you.

That odd cut angle on the down tree at the beginning of Blue is really not a big deal. We have been riding by it all winter. It is the kind feature that punctuates not detracts. It was an odd choice of angle that, at most, could be slightly smoothed at the sharp point. To my way of thinking, the Blue Loop should have lots of gnarly bits at all heights. Not dumb momentum robbers, more like elements of a 3D tunnel that we thread our way through as fast as we dare.

Nice! But <pedant alert>, don't forget the time aspect. As the conditions constantly change, it really should be a 4D tunnel, or maybe even a wormhole :).

Absolutely perfect out there today! Only one wet spot in the entire place and that was in the upper parking lot!

Went out for a hike to try and relocate some owls I saw a few days ago there. Only walked around green. Some parts of south green are muddy and should need to be hiked around. But for the most part the trails was solid. Green north on the other hand was to wet to ride standing water in many places pulled one decent size branch that was covering the trail.

Hey Central lets get a day to work on those drops. I can certainly recruit a few helpers if you can scavenge some more wood.

I smoothed out the sharp edge of this one today. No more ankle biter but the potential for a pedal strike has been preserved.

Went out yesterday and put a little more of my old fence in the upper green wet spot. This time in the wet spot that's like 50 yards before the log ride and where the planks already are. Not sure if it will help or not. That wood is pretty shaky and trying to work in the mud might have made it worse.

I may have a better idea for that spot anyway. I'm thinking that uniform fairly smooth straight logs of maybe at least 6" diameter could be cut like 20" lengths and laid perpendicular to the trail for a feature to ride on for a while (like maybe 20 feet long) which would help allow water to cross the trail, especially if we added a pipe or 2. This is coming from a guy with no chain saw. But I can help in other ways.

Thank you. Keep the challenge and lower the risk of injury. That sounds perfect.

I'd be down to help too. Plus, I'd be willing to clear the trail and make the loop rideable if I knew some more specifics, even without the features. But I suppose that would require an onsight meeting or some marking or something.

Also, we could use some natural materials, there's a lot of dirt and logs in those woods which could make some nice drops.

Just got back and the trail looks good. A couple puddles still on Red (wish I had a few more plank pieces), and a big tree down on the beginning of Green.

Can't delete this post, but the tree is gone.

Thanks for all your work guys. Been out of town for work and life is a bit busy. We will get to work on the drops soon...sourcing the final lumber. Once I get a better idea of my schedule I will set-up a day and we will put in the drops and trail.

The tree was still there on Green my first lap, but Ron (the Bridge Layer) and John (The Dentist?) had it taken care of by my next time through.

The trail is in fine shape, super fast. Not issues, other than a bit of deadfall, but I kicked a bunch off. Should be smooth sailing!

Thanks to all who have worked out there recently. It has been THE spring to make it out early for many of us. The work done has definitely kept any damage to a minimum and kept us riding while other years it has been waiting. I haven't been out for a week or two and I hope the coming rain won't be a show stopper because I want to get some laps in this weekend.
