January 29, 2012

Michigan State University Pavilion
4301 Farm Lane, East Lansing, MI 48824

We are still accepting vendor and swap meet applications as well as silent auction donations. All applications must be scanned and emailed to communications@mmba.org by Friday, January 27, 2012.

Please click here to download the expo flyer and distribute.

The Annual Meeting and Expo is open to the general public. It is a great opportunity to connect with passionate cyclists, find great deals with the vendors, and to celebrate the advocacy efforts of the past year. This year's expo will feature:
  • an indoor riding arena;
  • First across the Finish Line and Volunteer of the Year awards;
  • Championship Points Series (CPS) awards;
  • a silent auction;
  • a swap meet;
  • a raffle;
  • and a concession stand serviced by MSU.
Schedule | Silent Auction | Swap Meet | Vendors | Directions and Parking

Super special thanks to Dave Cox for designing the flyer. :-)

Just a heads up that you must pre-register for the swap meet. Click here to do it now. You can also skip a step and click here to download the swap meet packet. :-D

One isn't required to pre-resgister for the swap meet just to go there, right? That's only for people that want to sell stuff?

Correct. Sign up only if you have gear to get rid of.

You need to fix your schedule link dates from 2011 to 2012 days and dates.

It shows saturday January 29th, 2011 when it should be Saturday January 28th, 2012

This confused me at first because I don't fully read things or look at attached years normally. Others might not either and cause confusion. The flyer didn't clarify Saturday or Sunday either and just showed the 29th. So my initial thought without looking at a correct calendar was the main event was on saturday and not sunday.

1 pm Keynote Speaker: Bobby McMullen

Di,

Nice job getting Bobby McMullen for the speaker! Do you know if he will be showing videos of his riding? Hopefully he takes a couple of laps on the pump track.
If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I think we're gonna see The Way Bobby Sees It.

Really? No sign up the day of? THought one of the advantage of this site was the space flexibility. Was it a problem last year? This seems like a very early cutoff i have no clue if I have anything to sell, normally don't even think of it til close to the event, not over 3weeks before.

I see the schedule has the swap weet ending before speaker, which is a good change,

SCKid, we're going to try to have sign up the day of, but the issue is tables. We have to plan ahead, and the number of participants in the swap meet is hit or miss. Last year, we had a great swap meet, but people were getting *beep* when we ran out of tables.

Another reason why the deadline is so early is because our mail situation needs to be redone, and I am afraid of not getting registrations if they are sent to our mailbox. If you can't make the deadline, but decide to do it not too much later, contact me personally ( communications@mmba.org ) for a different set of instructions. We are also looking into alternative sign-up methods.

Why not have a day of option for people that can provide their own tables, if tables are the only issue??? If someone is loading a bunch of stuff to bring a folding table or card table won't be that much more of a burdon to bring along.

Okay. We'll do that. Bring your own table for day-of sign up.
