My comment on night riding was pertaining to when the trail is considered open, not after it is closed. I'm heading there tonight. Can I flip my light on when it gets dark and continue riding or do I need to head to the car. I don't want to upset the owners or break the rules.

when the trail is open to riding (April to Nov 13) you can night ride there.

Rode this trail Monday night, and it was great. I rode this trail several times during the summer, and hated it every time. Fall has completely changed things, though. The sand is pretty much a non-issue now and the trail is amazingly fast. I'll definitely be riding this again soon once it dries up...

Hey

I just got word that the trails are closed until further notice as of 10/21/11. They said that there will be a lot of digging, mainline installation, rod placements and construction going on that next few days if not weeks at the base of the hills. They ask that we don't ride while construction is taking place since someone could get hurt, electrocuted or ride into a deep ditch.

Any word on if they are closed? ......My daughter and I were planning a trip for next weekend to the west side.

Plan was to ride Custer on Saturday ...visit my other daughter at GVSU...then ride Cannonsburg Ski Area and

Luton Sunday. Never been to any of them ..looking forward to it!

If the ski area is still closed, you could hit Bass River since you are only about 10 minutes away. There are no hills like the ski area but it is 5+ miles of twisty singletrack. Unfortunately our options get limited this time of year on this side of the state....

There is another new trail that was opened this weekend near Luton Park. It's only a little over a mile I think but if you rode to there from Luton and back along with a lap at Luton, you could get some halfway decent mileage in without having to ride circles at Luton. I don't think it is in the trail guide yet but here is a link to a trail day thread that has directions to that trail:

Since nobody has popped the question yet... I see they closed the ski hills for the season as of Monday 3-12 per the Cannonsburg website. Anyone have any idea of when the XC trails will be open for riding?

I received a call from the manager this week. They hope to have a decision by next week.
