Found some more shenanigans out here just after Y1, in the first wooded section. Someone moved some large tree stumps onto the trail, that I was able to move out of the way. They also moved the log that is the first stunt in this section, so that there was a gap between the dirt run-up and the log itself. This I was not able to move back into position, so I piled some more logs in front and on top of it to temporarily close it until I can get help moving it back into position.
I spent 4 hours today in the beginning of the east loop today cutting back alot of the thorn bushes as far as I could reach with the chapter's new Stihl FS 90R Brushcutter. Also tried to clear out some of the misc brush from the insides of some of these turns.
Last weekend spent 4.5 hours Sunday evening clearing out patches of thorns in the central loop with the Stihl. Also started clearing a path through the mini-hills in the central loop, along with a bypass to keep up speed just before the hills, at the sharp left/right hand (speed robbing) turns.
I'm heading back out tomorrow at 9 a.m. to help John the hiker clear out the tree down in the Western loop. I will probably stick around and do more clearing in the Eastern loop.
With the great weather, I am pretty surprised that I didn't see more people out riding today.
