Okay, geardaddy37 and I reviewed it this morning and decided that it would be too tricky (downright scary) the way I was going, so we came up with an alternative that still has character, but that is easier to figure out what to do. I ended up building an additional platform for the rear wheel to drop onto, while the front wheel takes the higher path
and has a small drop to the lower log. I test-rode it, smoothly and cleanly the very first time, then two tries where I had to jump off before the top because I stalled out, then one final try where I had to jump off before dropping to the exit and ended up with my rear tire bending way out of shape, ending my testing for the day.
I would not try this clipped in, but I have seen that some of you have far greater control than I do. I know from the one successful ride that it is possible and flows nicely if you can stay balanced. I'm looking forward to hearing about successful rides. Be aware that the entry is somewhat steep and you may stall out on it.
All lines in this new stunt section are now open. Tomorrow (Sunday Nov 6 2011) at 10 am (hopefully) a few of us are meeting in the McNamara lot and will be riding out to it to try some more test rides. Anyone is welcome to join us.
The latest pictures will be up on my web site in a few minutes:http://www.reidabel.com/Mountain%20Biki ... %20Me.html
I will be posting a thread about this new stunt and its various lines, and the entry trail to it. This trail and stunt section together will be called Hellboy
, named after the movie of the same name.
