We built the base of a new, potentially very large log pile on East at about 3.8. The base is ridable and took quite a bit of effort/time given the very heavy hard wood cut from the nearby downed trees. T.C. Ron's plan is to build it higher as time permits. That's all we had time for with a crew of 5. Should be fun, I haven't had a chance to test it yet. Trail conditions seemed to be very good with the recent rain... at least on the first portion of East.

Rode grubers this afternoon, it was in excellant shape. The new log ride was smooooth and will be expanded. Also lost my trip computer sometime after 10 mile I thimk. Also installed new signs at West/Turtle and the Tech Loop. A big thanks to the 4 other guys who came out and sacrificed their backs Saturday. Need some input as to whether the new signs are easier to read or not. Thanks; T.C. Ron

The 2nd half of Grubers is dry as well. BTW, I did not find the computer, but I did find two unused plastic blades from the DR trimmer on the trail!

There is a large, rotten oak down on the West Loop right before the tech loop exit. Watch out, it's on the tight right-handed turn.

I wonder if that is the one tree fight next to the trail that was hollowed out at the bottom about 100 ft down the trail from the 180-degree turn with the berm? Every time I ride past this tree, I wonder when it's going to fall over. Or are you referring to the 90-degree right-hander just before it meets back up with the regular trail?

Yeah, that wasn't very clear. The tree down is on the main part of the West Loop right before where the tech loop reconnects to the main trail. I love to rail that tight right turn and ended up laying it down to avoid the trunk.

REMEMBER; HUNTING SEASON HAS STARTED, TRY TO WEAR ORANGE MESH VEST!!! Most sporting good stores have them for a few dollars. Agroup of us Mt. bikers road Grubers Sunday and witnessed to young people empty a 12 gauge and a 22 rifle on one squirrel and he still escaped. They should have been arrested for animal cruelty and an embarrassment to hunters, then they left all the plastic shell casings on the ground. Ride safe. T.C.Ron, share the trail

Was on the West Loop last Thursday and come across 2 hunters on the trail, got about 200 feet from them and it sounded like unloaded both their guns. Needless to say I set new top speed for myself in that section of trail!!!

I think the two kids that ware hunting are also riders. I broke a chain right at the bottom of the hill where the Meadow Loop reconnects to the main trail and they told me "yeah, we never make it up this hill either". I wanted to say "But, but, but ... I broke my chain!! Normally I DO make it up this hill", but I didn't. I chuckled and wished them well with their hunting.

T.C. RON : Was that you riding the Sette on Sunday around 1:30? As I was leaving I heard you (or who I thought might be you) talking to a couple of other guys about the trail. Anyhow, I was leaving with the old Specialized FSR, wearing an orange vest and driving the grey BMW. As you were riding away, I though "hey, that was probably TC Ron!".

P.S. The log pile is enormous. And it's in a great spot. I found myself wondering how those logs got moved without the help of heavy equipment.
