I spent about 1 hour with some hand loppers trimming face slappers on the trail this evening, it was hot. I will do this every Wednesday evening during my sons baseball practice at Janowski to help you out Bill.
The trail is in great shape. Saw several people out riding in the 95 degree weather today.

Surprisingly good shape with all the rain the last couple days. Only a couple greasy spots (that were pretty interesting with a small block 8 on the rear).

what is the quickest way to trim those slappers back??? string trimmer? Sycthe? hand clippers?

I got racked a couple of times on Proud lake and a few with thorns really hurt.

When I rode out there last week, was I just missing them or did someone haul all those old refrigerators out of there ?

Watch out for the punji sticks just after the first paved path crossing. They're about chest high on the right. I took one to the shoulder tonight. I'm guessing they were slappers that got cut back but, not far enough.

This trial was a lot of fun for a shortie. The bridges are sweet and the skinny in the back was a hoot. Also the trail is very well maintained. :D

There is a tree down on the trail at about the 2 mile mark. It's decent sized and there are multiple trunks. I would think a chainsaw would make quick work of it. You can climb over it. You'll want to climb quickly though as the mosquitoes are out on force. Otherwise, the trail was in good condition. Slick in a few corners with puddles in the usual spots.

Beat me to it.

Nice riding with you out there today - sorry if my pace got you eaten up by the skeeters.

Not a problem dude. Lemme know next time you're out there. Note to self; anytime someone offers you mosquito repellent, take it.
