We are please to announce that we'll be hosting the 6th annual Maybury Challenge Time Trial on August 20th, 2011.

  • 2011's race will follow the same Time Trial format as last year.
  • Elite and Expert racers will do 2 laps of the almost 9 mile course. Everyone else (including SS) will do 1 lap as fast as you can.
  • We're please to be using Race Services RFID timing again this year, with results posted immediately on kiosks and available from their web site.
  • Lunch available for a small donation.
  • All proceeds from this race go directly to the MMBA Metro South Chapter and are used to help fund our trailbuilding and volunteer activities.
  • Pre-registration ends Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 12:00 NOON ET

Registration is open! More details and registration at BIKEREG.COM

Are you interested in supporting, volunteering or sponsoring the event ? We'd love the help. If you are interested please reply to this topic or e-mail sherpaboy@trails-edge.com or metrosouth@mmba.org for more details.

I want to resister my 22 year old daughter in a beginner race. Confusion on the registration page; there is a 19+ age group and a 15-29 age group for Beginner women.

There is a mistake on the registration page. The JV women class should be 15-18.

Anyone else having a problem getting signed up?? It won't take my CC or Paypal? I've checked all the obvious things.

I guess I wasn't holding my face right......I made it in! 9th time was a charm. Had flash backs of Iceman registration.

Been out of the race scene for a couple years. Wondering where I can go to view past results to give me an idea of lap times. Planning to race Expert but have no idea what I am in for. Last time I raced here it was an XC and the laps were shorter.

Also Loren/Mike, I am free the Friday before the race, after work, so I can swing over and help set up for Saturday if you guys need a hand. Of course last time I helped out was 2007 which was the last time I raced there....and that Friday evening we made it out of the park as the tornado sirens started to wail. And the race the next day....ugh....rained the entire race and not just sprinkles. I'll do my best to bring fair weather with me this year.

I can't seem to find the results from last year either but I can tell you that I raced last year in the Sport 30-39 age group. I placed 10th out of 22 riders in my age group and my total race time was 44:28. This year I will be racing the same class.

I ride Maybury a couple times a month and my lap times are usually between 30 and 32 minutes. For the race they stretch the course out to almost 10 miles and most of what they add are hills. So it's a nice addition.

Take that for what it's worth.

I'm looking forward to being there. It was great fun last year.

Please do something with the weather and ensure that we have 64º and lots of sun! (jk)

Thanks Mike. Again, haven't raced really since 2008 so I had no idea who the timing people have been for CPS. There used to be a link on the Race Page of MMBA.....am I missing something?

I just did a search in the space near the top of the page. We started doing Race Service (timing company) who uses chip timing and is very easy/quic with results. The course is about 9+ miles and does incorporate a lot more than the first 2 years.

Hope this helps...And glad to see you'll have a chance to be there this year.
