Question from my girlfriend

Postby Buck91 » January 9th, 2011, 11:36 am

So the gf is starting to get more active and two of those things are mountain biking and (maybe) jogging. Problem is that she is having a hard time controlling her... girls... if you know what I mean. Can anybody recommend what to look for in a sports bra to maximize control with minimal constriction? Like I said, she is pretty new to fitness and such and is really having issues with control here, so I figured I'd try and get some suggestions for her.

Thanks!

Title Nine has a great selection of sports bras. The ones rated "3+ Barbells" are the best for bounce control! :icon_thumleft:

This is what I have, looks like they redesigned it a little bit but it works great.

As a runner with some significant "girls" attached to my chest, this is the one I love:

But, as a mountain biker, I'm good with any of the Champion "jog bra" types .. I find I need MUCH less support for MTB than I do for running ..

My wife uses the Shock Absorber and she has quite a bit going on up in there. :)

I ususally wear my regular underwire bra under a sports bra/tank top combo. The tank top helps it from riding up and keeps me pretty stable.

Wouldn't that create a wicking issue? No clue what my wife finds best for control but she has thanked me a few times for pushing performance fabrics over her old cotton sports bras.

I concur. My "girls" can be a real pain, but I don't have much of a problem with mountain biking. If just any old sports bra won't do, then I recommend a bra that is more fitted as opposed to the generic, 80s-style sports bras.

I bought this one when I forgot to pack a sports bra for Superior Bike Fest: Patagonia Active Sport High Impact Bra-C/D. I love this bra for things like step aerobics and plyometrics - types of exercise that maximize bounce. ;-)

Anything really that has a good amount of extra support and the wicking fabric works good, seems to be the concenses here. I think I only picked mine was because of the front zipper, that thing is great!

Agree on both counts. Different bras suit different activities, and I too love my Patagonia bra (though the one I have for mountain biking is their more "light duty" bra).

Buck91, I also recommend that your girlfriend join the forum. Yes, there are some guys who have an identity crisis and read the Dirt Grrls Lounge, but there are also a lot of cool women here. :-) ;-)
