Results for 2011 Chapter Board

Hello,

The Metro South Chapter is looking for people interested in running for chapter board positions for 2011:

We have a few interested who mentioned this verbally, so I ask that you post here your intent to run for a position. We had only one person step up for nominations at the September meeting, so we'll have to do the rest of the nominations and voting at the December 16th (Thursday) meeting at Station 885 in Plymouth: http://www.station885.com/

Here is a description of the positions:

President

Chairs all meetings
Official representative of the chapter (except in regards to state board)
Coordinates activities of the chapter such as trail days
Responsible for promotion of the chapter
Voting member of the chapter board
Represents the chapter at events

Vice President

Substitutes for the president in his or her absence
Works with the president to assist in chapter activities
Voting member of the chapter board
Represents the chapter at events
Collects trail work hours by volunteers

Secretary

Records minutes for all quarterly chapter meetings
Records minutes for all monthly chapter board meetings
Voting member of the chapter board
Represents the chapter at events

Treasurer

Maintains the finances and financial records of the chapter
Pays approved bills for which there are reciepts
Works with the state treasurer in all relevant areas
Voting member of the chapter board
Represents the chapter at events

Chapter State Board Representative

Acts as the official chapter representative to the state board
Reports to chapter board and membership on state level issues
Voting member of the chapter board
Represents the chapter at events

Thanks to everyone for a great year. I worked with a terrific bunch of people on the Metro South Chapter Board, and we have a hard working set of Trail Coordinators that made things happen this year on our nine trails. Kudos to all the volunteers who helped with the trail days and events. Also, thanks to the Nate Phelps for advice and support on several issues. Returning to the general membership, I will continue to work on the Carlos Memorial at Highland as that was one goal I had set to complete in 2010 that we ran out of time to do. I also hope to continue to help with anything going on at the Rouge trail so that fire doesn't die out.

Congratulations to the 2011 Metro South Chapter Board! You guys are gonna rock!
