i remember the good 'ol days when you actually had to participate in a varsity sport to get a varsity jacket. i see kids with "dance" or "band" or "academics" & i wonder if it's not just another example of not excluding anyone & wanting everyone to feel good about themselves. :icon_puke_r:

At least when I went to school, the school had nothing to do with selling the jackets. Anybody could get anything they wanted on their jacket (expect, of course, the varsity letter, which came from the school itself.)

Er, everyone in Marching Band at my high school (L'Anse Creuse High School - North) had a Marching Band varsity jacket.

hey moron - there's a reason it's called a "VARSITY JACKET" & not a "club jacket" or a "i don't want to feel left out jacket" :P

The conflict comes from the fact that football players are facing the reality that their 'sport' is as much of a sport as dancing and band...
