Could you approximate how many miles we'd ride if we left from the ILRA trailhead parking lot, rode the Huron Valley Trail to Wixom, then returned to ILRA?
Trying to see if we can fit it in before dark if we start at 6:30.

We GIRLS had a fun ride tonight, on the paved trail, up to the top and way over to Wixom. Part of the Huron Valley Trail is still rough gravel, not paved! It was so much fun. Lots of whoop-de-doos....round trip was 20.8 miles. Gotta love going uphill in the wind! Fortunately, not too many people were attempting the regular trails tonight.
There is nothing wrong with the world that a bicycle cannot fix...

Just had the dubious distinction of riding my bike ACROSS the Huron River.
The 2-way section between the River Bend parking lot and the old concrete bridge is under several inches of water. I was pulling the chainsaw on my BOB, and nearly "flooded the engine"-- with water
The muddy sections on Yellow are too numerous to mention. On the plus side, I did get those fallen trees out. And no, it wasn't by floating them away

I love mountain biking because I haven't found anything that is more FUN !!

I just rode all of Island Lake Recreation Area, and reclassified it as open.
There are still quite a few muddy spots, so remember to ride through the mud and not around it and make the trail wider. Thanks!

The ups and downs on the blue loop are all in poor condition and need work. I am planning on doing this over the weekend.

Yeah, it ended up being a decent ride.
Actually, I think the best thing would be to trim the foliage off the trail. I don't how many times I got wacked in the face by branches and overgrowth.
