After we break it in some more it will mostly beginner-friendly. Right now there are 2 advanced spots that we'll be working on an optional bypass later to deal with a tricky transition and a small ravine. A guided tour on June 6 would be a good way to check it out as a new rider.

So far I did 3 trails. How does it compare to these three? The blue trail Island Lake is on my level. Most of lakeshore is at my level. I had to walk the bike through some parts. Maybury, pretty intense, too many close calls to count.

Thanks to those who came out to tour Rouge Trail today:

Even with all the rain, it was rideable. There are a few trees down that need sawing which will be attended to soon.

The TC's are hoping to get out there with a few volunteers with chain saws soon. I am sure after last night there are even more down! We've just been hammered!

You may not have to worry about the trail much longer: http://www.freep.com/article/20100624/N ... ks-in-July

Could be the last weekend beat the train leaves from Fort Wayne as well. :(

Chris and I cleared the trees tonight.

Trail is passable from end to end, but there's a water main break up on the street that has created a temporary small stream crossing. There's plenty more to do: lots of trimming, armoring, cleanup.

basically there just going to just stop maintaining the park. Why couldn't we keep the trail? It didn't say anthing about selling the land or is there more to it.

Good news- the parks are staying open! The summer volunteers begin their work soon. We are planning a BBQ on their last day to say thanks- Thursday, August 12th. If the weather is nice, we'll try to give tours of the new part of the trail that evening as well.

Has anyone rode this one recently? Is there a good time to go? Obviously you wouldn't want to ride here between the hours of 6pm and 6am  . But is there a good time to see other rider's out on the trail. I'd hate to be the only guy out riding here

Thanx
