Anderson Park Trail Work

Postby centralRH » March 23rd, 2010, 9:51 am

Weekly trail work will begin this coming Monday (March 28th). We will stay with Mondays until Burchfield group rides start up, then we will switch to Thursdays. I will be out there by 4:30 and plan to work for a couple hours. Meet down by the red loop trialhead. If you can't make it by 4:30 just follow the flags or trail until you find us.

Sunday, April 11th is the first weekend trail day. Start at 9:00 am.

No prior experience or tools necessary!

Burchfield rides will probably start Monday April 5th. The park is dry already. I have not verified, but rumor has it even Swamp Thing is dry.
I hope to have the stunts inspected and repaired this weekend, then the trail will be posted as open. Burchfield is closed due to a furlough day on Monday March 29th, so I will shoot for the first group ride on April 5th.

O.K. I guess I assumed it would be wet for awhile. I will still be out at Anderson on Mondays. I can not do Thursday until May, but I do not want to stretch this out any longer. If anyone doesn't feel like riding (yeah right) they are welcome to join me.

That is good news/

So Brad, the 11th, then another Saturday on the 24th? Working on Mondays until some time in May?

Jeff, are there any trail days you need?

I would like to offer up my availability, but it will be chaotic during the upcoming months during the week.

I was hoping that we could be done with this final section by the end of April. I think with a good showing on the two weekend trail days that could be possible. The Mondays will help reach that goal.

I may be able to do April 24th.

I was pumped until I saw that the 11th is a Sunday. Hopefully I can make it out on a Thursday when those start up.

Tomorrow is still on right?

I will try to make it, but probably can't get there until 6.

What us the plan, are we marking or cutting trail?

Perfect night for a little trail work. The rest of the week will be much nicer for riding. In other words, skip the riding tonight and give me a hand. :P

See you out there!

We got a good amount of work done. We actually stopped because Brad hadn't finished marking the entire trail.

He thinks, and I agree, that we should be able to finish this up before the end of April if we get people out on Mondays and especially the weekend day(s).

So, next Monday, 5APR10 is the next day, then also mark your calendars for the 11th.

I have you down on my calendar for the 11th. I need you to finish it up so everyone can come to Bennett on the 24/25. Weekends are few and far between, so every one go help Brad on Mondays and on the 11th, then come help me get BP ready for the Poker Run on the 24th.

I didn't steal your thread to bad, did I?
