Information on the Swap Meet

Postby TESCMarne » January 27th, 2010, 12:52 am

There have been enough questions about the swap meet that I think extrapolating the swap meet info would be helpful

Tables go on sale- 9:00am
Swap meet opens- 10:00am
Price- $15 cash per table
Availability of tables? We will have about 20 tables. They are first come, first serve. There is no way to reserve the tables.

The swap meet is a environment for folks to get rid of your cycling gear that has been gathering dust and is stacked up your garage and sell it swap meet style at the annual meeting. This is reserved for individuals selling their items. No retailers or stores please.

For attendees it is a great place to pick up some used, slightly used, or sometimes new items at a great place.

Thank you everyone and if you have any questions please direct them to Marne at expo@mmba.org

Still some questions at least for me. 10Am start of swap. Does that mean that is officially starts at 10am or that is when the load in/tables are assigned? I am asking because according to the main page the event opens at 9am-4PM, and previous years if you a vendor or swap person you could come an hour early to setup. Essentially what I am asking if I show up at 9am, can I get a table and start setting up for the swap?

Any idea how well mobile phones work, and if 3G service (AT&T, TMO, et al) is available in the area? I doubt this would be easy to find documented, but perhaps someone knows from personal experience?

Not that I really intend to spend the expo browsing things on my phone, but it'd be neat to know.

Phones were quite well. I'll be using my cell modem.
