Still snow in the woods here, means at best a boggy clay nightmare of trail destruction.

It might be okay (better than a dentist visit anyway) if temps are below freezing and you get on it early in the day.

Thanks to the owner, staff and patrons of Terry's Cycle the Jailhouse trail has been cleared of downed trees and completely raked. Rode it today and other than being a bit slow it is in great shape. Come on out and enjoy the beautiful scenery of of central Gratiot County.

I am hoping to ride on Saturday June 28th. Can anyone tell me how the tail is? We'll be coming from Saginaw. With the $ of gas I'd hate to get there and find the trail too wet to ride. Thanks

I ride this trail almost every day since I live in the area, the rain should firm up the loose sand. This 4.7 mile course is a pedal course and will get you in good shape.

Where exactly is the trail head located for this trail?

The directions on the trail guide are rather vague.

That Google map is OK, but......

You merely need to follow the signs to the Fairgrounds. Turn right into the fairgrounds, follow the main drive to the left when it forks, then drive straight back and park under the huge tree in the middle of the grassy area. You'll see the "kiosk", then you'll see the opening in the woods where the trail starts.

To be more accurate, how far off is the trailhead symbol on the map? Where should it be?

Can anyone tell me how the thorns are at the jailhouse trail? My last trip resulted in 3 flat tires....in less than one mile. I pulled a total of 7 thorns out of my tires. I am now armed with new tubes and patches. Are there ever any trail days there? Other than collecting thorns and picking up litter when I see it I'd like to help keep trail in good shape.
