"Strange Encounter" Livingston Co. backroads 03/19

Postby cyclodan » March 20th, 2009, 7:30 pm

OK, lately I have been doing a lot of LSD, no not that, but long steady distance. Thursday I decided to go get lost. Riding from my house in Whitmore Lake I headed out thru Brighton Rec. on the dirt roads and to the roads north west of there that I'm not really familiar with. It's pretty cool, lots of State land all around and seems kind of remote.
I'm cruising down some winding dirt road when it occurs to me that I have achieve my goal of "getting lost". I am only about an hour and a half into the ride and still feeling fresh so I decide not to look at the map but to just keep on riding to who knows where.
Suddenly from out of nowhere I am knocked to the ground and my bike is snatched up by some kind of...treemonster!!!!

Totally stunned I jumped up and began to hurl rocks and profanities at the...thing...whatever it was.
Just then a couple of locals in a lifted pick-up who were out "road hunting" came upon the scene. A couple of shots from a 12 guage sent the creature scurrying and I recovered my bike.
Billy jo Bob (not his real name) told me that thing is responsible for the dissapearance of numerous cats, dogs and lawn gnomes in the last several months. Totally FREAKY!
I'm not a comlete idiot, some parts are missing.

The trail is the thing, not the end of the trail. Travel too fast and you miss all you are traveling for.

I'm surprised, Dan. You're not easily stumped.

It's the roadie bars . Mtb. bars would not have been snagged on the big piece of wood sticking out from that Stumpy monster .
Have Mcleod , will travel .

Yeah, I saw one of those tree monsters in Pontiac the other day. They're getting more and more urban. :|
