Great Movie!

Hiking, adventure racing, winter sports, triathlons, etc.

A little off the subject.

I saw the movie with my wife at the Michigan Theater. It was great but how about that first preview. My wife, who knows I like off beat movies looked at me and said, “If this is the movie you brought me to see, I’m out of here”. Talk about weird.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago at the MainArt Theatre in Royal Oak. It definetly isn't a movie you watch to get pumped up to go on a mountaineering expedition, or even climbing. It was an excellent flick though. I just had surgery on my ACL and meniscus that I tore snowboarding this winter, and everytime the guy would fall or scream from pain in his knee I would just cringe. It might have made the movie better for me because I could feel his pain, although I don't think I could make it through anything like that. After I tweaked my knee snowboarding I got up to try to walk to my car and it made a loud pop and I fell back down screaming. I want to read the book now. I'm currently starting "Into the Wild". Check this movie out if it comes to your area! I wish I could make it to the Banff film festival down state, but I can't afford a road trip from Marquette right now.
