Postby IFrider1 » February 25th, 2006, 11:01 am

With the temps getting down to 32 < anyone know if Brighton is looking OK to ride? Sounds like ILRA is pretty chewed up. Anyone been out to BRA?

I did a bunch of dirt roads around Brighton Rec today, because the trails are still too muddy......3 local yokels on department store bikes came off the trail while I was in the lot, right past the "is your name MUD?" sign complaining of how muddy and nasty it was  and how long the trail was.

However, I did check out the Lost Loop while riding down Bauer Rd, and ended up riding it. The Lost Loop is in great shape right now! :D

how are the trails doing at brighton rec? I want to give them a shot tomorow (thurs) while the weather is nice.
Don't worry. It's all downhill from here.

Monday night Murray was about 95% good, there were a few muddy sections and a lot of pizza cutter tracks (from early got get out idiots). Murray also has two down trees that make you get off and hike over (I plan on clearing them on Thursday night) and a few trees that are down on the ground that will make interesting log crossings for the summer.
We did get some rain on Tuesday here in Brighton so the trails may still be wet. If you go out to ride plan on checking out the trails but if they are not in good shape jump on the dirt roads around the Rec area. It would be a shame if the trails got messed up now being so close to the season.
The Poto chapter has a meeting tonight and we will discuss the first trail workday. I will post the time and dates in a few days, please check back and plan on helping out. This year we want to put some time into Torn Shirt making it an even better trail then it already is.

Rode Murray's Lake tonight. The trail is in great condition. I don't recall one soft spot that needed to be avoided. A couple small trees down, but nothing serious.

Mile markers on the Lost Loop

Postby ghostrider » March 31st, 2006, 9:12 pm

Matt and I will be installing the last of the mile markers on the Lost Loop this Sunday afternoon. We are going to meet at the Murray Lake campground enterance (off of Bauer Rd) at 3:00pm and plan on finishing up at 6:00pm. If all goes well we will take a ride after, remember we will have an extra hour of light.
If you are intrested in helping contact me at.
Brighton-trails@hotmail.com or be at the above location at 3:00. If you run late I'm sure you will catch us on the trail as we will be moving slower then you. Remember these are the trails you ride and it takes effort from everyone to make them the best.
