Island Lake & Moose Mitts

Postby Ecruz » February 5th, 2003, 6:09 pm

i rode island lake this morning and thought i would share trail conditions. it was one big sheet of ice. even with studded tires i fell twice. although it was better than last saturday, when the snowmobile packed snow was really, really tough to get thru. it took me 53 minutes today, 1 hour 24 minutes saturday. ouch!

if you're riding this time of year and don't have Moose Mitts, what are you waiting for? these things rock! it was 17 degrees today when i finished. i wore my full fingered SUMMER gloves under the "Mitts" and my hands were sweating when i finshed. very highly recommended!

......we rode Novi last night, and 3 of 7 guys had studs. It was the slickest ride of the year, but very fun. A sheet of ice to say the least!!!!!!!! I managed to stay up last night, but on saturday in that thick snow, I took 2 real hard falls. The knee cap did its job in protecting, BUT I wish I had had something on to PROTECT IT! Spring is just around the corner, so get out there and enjoy the snow while you can!!!!!!!!

FYI I picked up a new pair of Moose Mitts from Mike Flack at the show. They are Black and match my bike. Anybody who wants my still in great condition brown MooseMits, no reasonable offer refused.

Studs

Postby Roy » February 6th, 2003, 8:43 pm

I road Novi last night with home made studs. I can't belive anybody could ride it wihout studs. Even with studs I could not lean over around turns, and off camber was a killer. I had to keep the bike at right angle to the ground.
If you rode Novi without studs you are skilled.
