You're right. This is a forum comprised of grown adults that like to ride bicycles through the woods. It is a very serious topic that brings us together, and it's in very poor taste to joke about anything.

I took your advice and reposted this on another forum. The paraplegic support forum didn't think it was very funny at all. I guess they just didn't understand the subtlety of the ridiculously low price, since they are not mountain bike enthusiasts and don't understand the value of nice bikes.

LMAO!!!

...and I can accept credit card payments if that makes it easier for anyone. I got one of those fancy PayPal credit card readers for my phone :)

But I'd prefer cash, because I have to pay fees to take credit card.

Final bump!

I have a craigslist buyer that has agreed to a price, but seems to be incapable of communicating effectively enough to plan a time to come see the bike :(

When this deal falls through (as I expect it will), I'll probably put it on ebay starting at $0.01 with no reserve. Yeah, I live on the edge :)

Last call for reasonable offers!

So basically, you're just providing more proof that you can't take a joke? It was an April fool's prank. Get over it.

I don't think karma really had much do with the delay on the sale. I think it was more so that in the current state of the economy, there aren't tons of people running out to buy a $1500 bike, regardless of how nice it is.

I will say this though, in my few transactions while here on MMBA, there is definitely a fine line between the crazies and the sane people here. Which is pretty unfortunate that some may just as soon turn to craigslist for a deal. Considering this is a mountain bike forum, you would think it's for the most part made up of people who like to enjoy the weather and the outdoors, and are pretty relaxed in general.

I guess in any way you look at it, you're still dealing with the general public, which is always unfortunate. Congrats on the sale man...BUT NO MORE *beep* JOKES!
