Ok, this bike needs to go. I need to make room in the garage.

First $500 takes it!

This is not the April fools forum. It is a classified ad. I've got cash. When do I pick up my bike for the advertised price?

If I still have the bike on April 1st next year, you can have it for $500 ;)

Yes, but it's not *next year* yet.

And it figures that even with a ridiculously low asking price, someone will still try to get it for less.

To make up for my cruelty, I'll drop my real asking price a bit to $1650.

Lame. It's a bike forum. Leave the games and crap for the other forums.

Didn't mean to offend the almighty TenSpeed and I bow down to your infinite wisdom on the conduct of the forum. He jokingly put a price for April fools and I offered him a price lower as a joke to boot.

You're right. This is a forum comprised of grown adults that like to ride bicycles through the woods. It is a very serious topic that brings us together, and it's in very poor taste to joke about anything.

I took your advice and reposted this on another forum. The paraplegic support forum didn't think it was very funny at all. I guess they just didn't understand the subtlety of the ridiculously low price, since they are not mountain bike enthusiasts and don't understand the value of nice bikes.

As in still APRIL FOOLS! Dang, I guess I have to spell it out. I have been riding bikes for 50 years. I think I know how much bikes are worth. Good luck with the sale.

I blame the internet for failing to properly convey subtle conversational cues.

Anyway... back on topic...

The 10 day weather forecast is full of favorable conditions to come see this beautiful bike in person, test ride it (with your own pedals if you prefer), and fall in love with it. If you're even just potentially seriously interested in the bike, come ride it to find out if it's "the bike" for you. I'd rather sell this locally, as it will be a better deal for everyone involved, but I will sell the bike this spring if it requires putting it on ebay starting at $0.01 with no reserve (that's the only way to sell an expensive item on ebay... so much anticipation!).

A bike just like this (same size, slightly less used, but not fully serviced) sold on ebay in December for $1900 + unspecified shipping, and a 29er demo bike from a shop just sold in February for $1725 + $130 shipping. Get a test ride and a better deal by buying locally, and save me from the hassle of packing & shipping :)
