lost bike on east bound I-96 around webberville

Here's the long story......

My hitch mount bike rack failed and my husbands rockhopper fell off on I-96(east bound) around Webberville. Other cars caught us and honked and said it fell off....OMG, is all I could think. So we hit the next exit and swing around. well, low and behold there it is on the shoulder-it looks totally find from the west bound side. My husband is happy, I'm thinking crazy thoughts and the kids are screaming in the back of the van....cool-we'll hit the next exit, that's when I look in my rearview mirror and someone is stopping to pick it up! NO!!!!!!!! so, i hate to say it but I do a illegal u-turn and within 2-3 minutes my husbands' bike is GONE!!! Someone stole my husbands' bike off the highway!!! Please help if you hear anything about it. I made a police report and will be calling Yakima today......please help us-this bike saved our marriage and helped my husband quit smoking......I know, just by a new one, well, it's not in our budget-i wish it was( I still ride my schwinn Moab-18 years old- so my husband could have a rockhopper)!!

Thanks for listening at the very least and all I can say to the person who stole my husbands bike-KARMA!!!!! oh-and thankfully no one was hurt!!

I doubt that the person thought they were stealing it. They probably thought it was abandoned or that it was a hazard by the road. Regardless, good luck in your search. Keep us posted.
