The new guy...

Postby zloew » June 20th, 2011, 4:22 pm

Hey all. I just moved to Ann Arbor from Chicago and despite the craziness of moving/ starting work I have been able to ride Poto a couple of times and am really digging my new local riding. A couple of questions for anyone willing to answer them:
1. How does Poto (or other local trails) do after rain? My sense would be that the sand keeps things pretty well drained, but we don't have any sand in Chicago so I don't really have any frame of reference.
2. Any ideas on how to get involved with trail work or maintenance?
3. Anybody wanna ride sometime? I'll bring the beers.

Thanks,
Z

MMBA loves volunteers! Check out the volunteers needed tab on the mountain bike board index.

Poto drains fairly well. I'm sure you'll get better advice form others that ride it more often/live near.

Welcome to Michigan and the MMBA!

1 - things drain pretty well, after the spring thaw
2 - watch the forums!
3 - Poto chapter rides Thursday nights. 6PM meet time, 6:30PM ride time. Meet in the lower lot, near where there used to be a picnic table. Oh wait, that's not helpful at all! Here:

3A - On the last Thursday of the month, we ride at Brighton instead. Meet here
