Upper Macatawa

Facebook page says loop 1 of this trail is open, but the trail closed signs are still up. Can someone verify if we can start riding the dry sections?

I stopped there today and the closed signs are still up. How do I find out if they are open or closed before I drive all the way there to ride?

I walked upper mac last night...it looked good but there are some small juicy spots yet, nothing you couldn't wheelie over, it looks ride ready.
If there is still work to be done on this trail I will gladly help...I live 10 min. away! Anyone in charge of the track building at this spot can contact me with a schedule or let me know the schedule that would be great.

There will be a trail work day this Saturday May 25 from 9:00 to 12:00. Meet at the top of the hill / end of the paved path by the trailer. Tools will be provided but we do need a weed whip. Bring your gloves, water and BUG SPRAY. Lunch will be provided.

The trail looks great and the weather looks dry for a few days so enjoy some sweet riding! The whole trail has been weed whacked so it should be good for a couple of weeks.
Feel free to e-mail the Ottawa county parks department to encourage them to allow us to expand into the next phase as soon as possible. They need to hear positive feedback on this trail.

I agree, let the Parks Dept know so the guys can build some more trail. The potential is huge, more of the same flowy bench cut. I bet 5-6 miles total when complete :D

Rode the trail last night, and it was great with all the repairs done for the wet spots. Thanks to all the work every one has done on this trail! This one has lots of potential.

I think we're going to need a direction posted soon. There was quite a few people out there tonight, and there is not much shoulder for pulling over in places. The trail is fun in both directions, so I hope we can alternate by days like Merrill trail.

A trail day at the Upper Macatawa trail is scheduled for this Saturday, July 13th from 9:00 to 12:00. We have general maintenance work and some trail enhancements planned.
Meet at the top of the hill by the trailer. Bring your bike to ride to and from the trail head (about ½ mile) and for a ride on the trail after we are done,
Don’t forget your water, gloves and mosquito spray.

We will be back at it building loop 3 this Wednesday from 4:00 till dark
Meet at the trailer at the far (North) end of the current loop. Ride your bike or walk to the overlook at the top of the hill and follow the MB→ sign to the trail. Stay to the right and follow the lower loop to get to the North end. Total distance from parking lot to the trailer is approx. 7/8 of a mile.
Please remember there is NO riding of bikes on the mowed paths.
Bring your gloves & water.
