I just placed an order for my new bike yesterday. I have to get it from the warehouse so hopefully by this weekend I'll have something new to play with. Anybody want to go ride with the new guy :D?

Good news, I have my bike!

Bad news: One, I took pictures on my camera without the SD card so its stuck on the camera's internal memory and I don't know how to get it off.

Bad news2: The shop where I got it wasn't helpful, but nor did I ask. When I got there got my bike, and then they didn't ask if I needed to be fitted. I didn't expect a full BG fit, but when I bought my SJ, the shop where I bought it from at least fit me (10 minute fit). I could have asked, but I bought a bike... pricy one at that and nothing?

I'm now sticking to two bike shops only. I don't care how far I have to drive.

Hopefully I can be scheduled to be fitted at my favorite shops this weekend.

Very cool bike. I rode one of those Roubaix bikes equipped with Ultegra at the 2008 Island Lake demo and was sorely tempted to actually buy a road bike. Super nice riding yet still light and fast bike. I still lust after one when I see one. This year there's a beautiful dark blue model again so I'm thinking of selling a kidney or something to afford one. 8)

SFG,

Looks great!

Is the bike all set up? How does it ride?

The bike is more or less setup. I installed my mtb pedals for now until I get some new ones, but I'm still tweaking the fit; saddle height etc.

I haven't ridden the bike for more than 500 feet, but I love it! I haven't been hope a lot and I was hoping to ride today but the wind was a killer. I've been biking around the neighborhood.

I can't wait to ride further... anyone want to do a group ride :D

Only if your "pulling"! That wind is brutal!

We were going to do some road riding after stoping in at the Demo Day, but it is/was just to nasty to do that. Not to mention I HATE cleaning the road bikes! You can get away with the mtb's being a little dirty, but not the roadies!

If your looking for another ride besides the Zoo De Mack, check out the "Save The Tata's" thread I started! It's on August 7, and the following w/e on (August 15 I think) Sunday is the Assenmacher 100, with 4 different routes (Maybe 5, can't remember), 20ish miles up to 100 miles here in Swart Creek.

I'm doing a diabetic's ride and that tata ride looks pretty cool also; I would be down for that. I just got done riding stoney and the bike is a blast!

I do need some tires though, and a new stem.

I'm almost afraid of the tires. Their race slicks and I started thinking about what if it rains on some of the rides I'm doing, will I have traction, what if there is loose gravel etc.

and maybe a new stem, i feel my stance is way to aggressive.

Hard to tell from your pics, but looks like you could flip it to get the bars a bit higher.

I agree. It looks like you can flip the stem to a more upright position. Also, if I am correct, that stem has a "sleeve" in it to adjust the angle a little. Turn one way, lower, turn 180*, higher.

With the amount of seat post you have showing, I wonder if you could have gone up a size????????? That is a fair amount of saddle to bar drop.

As for the tires, I rode the Zoo De MAck last year in the nasty, rainy, cold crap weather, and didn't have any problems on my tires. Just use caution in the corners by not leaning to much, or braking. I got over 30mph on wet roads, only reason I didn't go faster is I wasn't sure what the other riders may do at any given moment.

As I uderstand it, road bike tires will NOT hydroplane, the contact area is to small for the amount of weight on them to hydroplane.
