New and Old Riders!

Postby dmphoto » May 24th, 2010, 3:43 pm

I took my 7 year old grandson for his first trail ride through the Pines at Stony this past Sunday. He exceeded my expectaions by riding the entire trail on his 20" Giant mtn bike, expect a short push up the beginning of the 're-route'.
I....rode the Coaster for the first time since 2008 because of open heart surgery last sping, 09'. Oh boy, did I miss that trail. It felt awesome and I love the new section!

Congrats on your recovery and welcome back to the sport!

I've been (light)trail riding with my son since he was 6 and recently have been showing him more and more of Lakeshore Park as his skills have progressed. He's almost 9 and he is by far my favorite riding partner though I do have to get out from time to time without him so that I can push myself. In a few years that probably won't be necessary and I hope he won't mind riding with his old man. :D
Regards,
Larry

I wish I had been exposed to this kind of thing when I was younger. The 'kids' sure will appreciate it later in life.

Good for you guys! I cant wait to get my little out there. I got him riding on two wheels last summer ( age 3 ) and we are working on his riding skills now. He learned to stand on the pedals and pedal standing last night.
