
upon inspection, he swipped a fallen tree that was folded in half and was splintering on both ends. He just grazed the side of it. the piece of wood was firmly stuck in his calf.
I get out a few 4x4's and kling in preperation to remove this large "sliver"
When he was ready i told him to relax his calf muscle and I would pull it out in a swift but smooth motion. 1,2,3, go....... Nothing. the piece of wood was securly in the calf muscle and would not come out with a moderate tug.
Ok, lets try this again, this time pulling harder. 1,2,3, go.....

Holy smokes!!!!!! thats not what I was expecting!
Anyways, dressing applied and kling to secure it inplace. Bleeding was very minimal and he stated it was a little sore but no real pain. Like someone kicked his calf. after bandaging was complete we finished another 18 miles of riding without incident.
