looks like roughly 1000 feet/lap elevation gain!

and 1000 feet/lap down too!
Playing with the data you can get some approximate grades for the climbs...
1.01 mi at 4.9%
0.16 mi at 8%
0.29 mi at 6.3%
0.57 mi at 3% (a rest section)
0.94 mi at 5.9%
0.25 mi at 6.1%
1.2 mi at -6.2% and start again

Course is marked.....Finish has been moved to bottom of Deciples Ridge AND the parking as well. About 1/8 mile west of last year (bottom of old downhill run) START and registration will still be outside of the tennis center (kids mini marathon as well @ 3:30) Look for the signs. Trail looks great!

Course is awesome! Was a little confused on the ending but understand it now. Course rides well, pretty sandy, okay very sandy, but some hard work raking corners really shows. Surprisingly fast for as rough a course and did i mention it is extremely fun. Heres a link to my pre ride at about 70% trying not to go to hard.

So we can expect 45-minutes laps from you during the race, then?

I'd love feedback on the race from any rider- I couldn't be there due to work travel and was relegated to jogging in 100 degree temps

Michigan mtb'ing at it's best. Brent incorporated one of his ol' downhill race runs in the course to truly test your off-road handling skills and avoided that downhill golf cart path run with the sharp dogleg at the bottom, and we didn't have to snake around the back of the lodge through the parking lot. Shortened up the course by like a mile per loop this year (i think), though made for the best course design yet in my opinion. They turned on a snow maker throwing a refreshing mist for us racers to stand under and rinse/cool off...nice touch.

Thanks for racing & supporting the Boyne Marathon.....GREAT turnout @ Boyne this weekend. Huge THANK YOU to the Staff & those that step up helping us with the road crossings, aid station & finish line. I hope everyone liked the NEW finish/parking area & course layout this year....I think it was one of the HARDEST loops we have offered and you racers earned your 1.5 MMBA points!

I really liked that decent, in the latter laps riding down while trying to avoid those who were trying to walk their bikes down was quite the challange. The finish area was better IMO as well, more shade and the snow maker running was a good touch. Good to see the numbers going up. 8)

First time racing Boyne, thought the course was tough but it was everything a mtb course should be. Wouldn't change anything for next year. Thanks for a good event.
