Lakeshore Park Trail Day April 10th 9 am

Postby froggyrider » April 3rd, 2010, 6:11 pm

from the TC's at Lakeshore:

Spring Cleanup trail day at Lakeshore Park

When: Saturday, April 10th, starting at 9:00 am

Where: Meet at the MMBA Metro South Trailer by the trailhead

We’ve got lots of projects lined up this year:
Tidy up the trail, minor trimming
Bridge replacement on Lost Loop
Bridge repairs
Log pile rebuilds
Berm building
Rock gardening
Pump track tweaking
Signposting
Crater area enhancements

What to bring: We have some basics in the trailer, but we expect a big turnout. Bringing shovels, pry bars (for moving rocks), hand saws for pruning and log pile building, and so forth would be appreciated. Bridge work requires that a few people work in the stream – waders or tall boots might be a good idea if you’re up for that. A cordless drill or two might be put to good use.

Who: Anyone is welcome. MMBA membership not required. As before, the City of Novi rewards 16 hours of work before Memorial Day with a free annual pass to the park, and this day makes an excellent start at that. If you love the trail, come help make it even better!

Bagels and lunch provided!

Starting in the 40s, ending at 65 degrees under a sunny sky.

Perfect weather for trail work - should be a great day!
