March: MTB role models sought at Plainwell school

Postby Todd Scott » March 1st, 2005, 8:27 pm

From: Kris Dewitt:

Hi --

I teach at Cooper Elementary School in Plainwell and we are looking for
volunteer athletes to visit classrooms this month to read to
students (March is Reading Month). We have an annual Spring bike trip (for
3rd graders) and are always looking for great role models!

We are very flexible with days and times, so if you know of anyone
interested, please let me know.

Please contact me at your convenience.
Thanks--

Plainwell is located along US-131 just north of Kalamazoo.

Why mountain bike racers? Are they looking for people to just read stories to the class or teach them about cycling or both? I may be interested depending on timing.

I don't think it has to be racers necessarily.

Forget it, Jeff.
He said they were looking for good role models.

Jon, Allen talked about you for 2 days after meeting you. I strongly incourage you to make this a priority. I'm confident you'll make an positive impact on the children.
